Art Portfolio - Saturday from 12.10pm

Running over 10 weeks from September to December. This preparation course is suited to any individual considering a third level course for which a portfolio or samples of artwork are required. (Other days considered if required).

Students will learn through research and development how to create a portfolio that is both comprehensive and individual by using observational drawings, the exploration and resolution of ideas, and the editing and presentation of the portfolio.

German - Wednesday 4.50pm to 5.50pm

Grammar

  • Work on all verbs in the main tenses
  • Angewandte Grammatic past questions.

Abstract Topics

Irish (H) for 6th Yrs- Thursdays 5.50pm - 6.50pm

The following areas relating to the Leaving Certificate Irish Paper will be covered during the weekly grinds courses at Leinster Senior College.

Goals / Objectives:  Develop ‘Written’ and ‘Oral’ with the correct phonetics, pronunciation and grammar.

Approach: Enjoyable learning environment. Tutoring will be intensive but encouraging. Emphasis placed on spoken, written and pronunciation of language. Aim to improve the grades of each participating student. Boost your confidence in speaking Irish. Special encouragement for those who find the language difficult. Excellent and clear notes. Excellent exam tips. How to approach the exam paper in a clever effective way.

First Ten Classes (September – December):

  • Pictures –  one to five
  • Oral – Reading of poetry – How to achieve a high mark
  • Prose – three stories
  • Poetry – two poems
  • Aural

Second Ten Classes (January – April)

  • Pictures – five pictures
  • Oral – although much attention will be given to this section, all sections will be taught thoroughly at our Oral Revision Day
  • Prose – three stories
  • Comprehension – Focusing on questions 6A and 6B
  • Drama – ‘A Thig a Tit Orm  – Notes provided in full. (Notes for an Triail are also available for students studying this text).

> HPAT

HPAT Preparation - Saturdays 9.00am - 11.00am

A series of preparation grinds for the HPAT examination 2020 will take place in Leinster Senior College, Newbridge from September to December. While the classes are primarily for full-time students of Leinster Senior College there may be places available for outside students.

There will be 10 hours tuition in total. The cost of the course is €300.

All sections of the course will be covered to include Logical Reasoning and Problem Solving, Interpersonal Understanding and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
